Sports Injuries

Injuries encompass muscle, ligament, tendon and joint problems, and can come on suddenly due to trauma, or can come on gradually over a few months due to underlying biomechanical or postural issues.

 

Treatment aims to optimise healing of scar tissue, reduce pain and restore flexibility and strength to the muscles and joints. A variety of modalities including electrotherapy, kinesiotaping, and up-to-date scientific injury management advice can be used in order to minimise the impact of an acute injury to facilitate a quick return to activity. Soft tissue massage, manipulation, trigger point release, joint mobilisations and stretches are also used to ensure full recovery of the major structures that may have been compromised as a result of the injury.  Home and gym rehabilitation exercises, aimed at flexibility and strength defects, will help ensure that goals are achieved and injury recurrence is minimised.
